Week of June 12th

I felt that this years film festival was a success. I personally have been to some film festivals in previous years, but this one definetely topped all of them. I guess it mostly has to do with the fact that the film actually involved people I knew. Overall I loved everything. I especially appreciated the very supportive audience. They did an excellent job at expressing their enjoyment of the films being presented to them. Overall I truly believe that this film program does indeed bring out the creativity in everyone. A creativity that no class can ever teach.

Week of May 22nd

This week has been a little more productive than others. We have begun the first segment of filming. I learned to adapt to the new recording style that this movie requires. That involves setting up the mic and having it successfuly record our audio. This weekend we will also film. By Tuesday we should be half through shooting our film.

Week of May 15th

This week we came up with the idea of our next movie. We are doing a narrative love story. We have already started on most of the storyboarding process. We just need a couple more scenes to make the film long enough to be understood by our audience. That is pretty much it.

Week of May 8th

This week was really slow for us. We did although come up with an idea for a film. This week we will focus on shooting. The next film we plan to do is narrative film so a lot of work is going to have to be done.  The idea revolves around a ghost at the moment. I also have another idea, it is a more humorous type of film. 

Week of May 1

   
This week was slow for our group. We honestly did not get much done. Although not much was done this week, our group somehow manage to finalize our PSA film. One film down, two to go. We are currently coming up with idea of our next film. We plan to do a music video next. It should be. Or not.

Week of April 24th

This week ended on both a good and bad note. I did finish the whole editing aspect of our production. I thought it was good enough. The only thing that we need to do now is add the voice over for my groups PSA. After that is done, I will finally be done with everything I have worked on.

Week of April 17

This week has been a slow process for me. I anticipated that my editing would've taken less time. Although I have delayed my film editing process, I do believe that my groups film will be done by the beginning of next week. All I need is to find the right sounds for the movie. Everything else is pretty much done.

Week of April 10th

This week has been quite slow for our group. I am currently currently editing the clips that we will use throughout our PSA. I am almost done. I just need to set the concept and order of the PSA. I predict that this film will be done by Tuesday.

Week of April 3rd

This week my group finished shooting our PSA. All we have to do now is get the recording/audio segment of our idea. After that we are pretty much finished with what we planned to do. Although we have finished filming I feel that we perhaps missed something while shooting our film. I am the editor of the clips. Let's see where it takes me.

Week of March 27th

We actually did a lot of things this week. We have established who the main character will be. We have also come up with where we will be shooting our PSA. One of the things left to do now is make the script for the phone call we are going to implement in our video. Once that is done, literally half of everything will be done. The reason being that the whole phone call is the biggest emotional aspect of the film. Overall we have done everything we need to start shooting this weekend.

What Music Means to Me

Describing what music means to me is kind of difficult. It means a lot to me. Music has always been there, through the good and bad times. It's been there on gloomy nights and summer day. It's been there when I want to get away from everything. Music takes me away from all the noise, interruptions, and nonsense that decays my happiness. I have always been a music person. I personally play two instruments myself; my guitar, and electric piano. They mean a lot to me. I can think of any days when I don't find myself wanting to play them. Days where I don't annoy my mother when I have the volume too high. I also love the feeling of being good at playing an instrument. I know that practice does not make perfect, but it sure does help. I honestly spend hours on end learning new ways of constructing sounds and getting. I overall can say I love everything about music. I don't know where I'd be without it.

Problems + Struggles

Bell High School students face struggles everywhere they go. It all just depends on how each individual handles those issues. One of the biggest struggles I see around me is the fact that many students come from families that are of low income. Low level of income can result in many problems. This includes being able to pay for tuition for upcoming college semester. I know from experience that money has a great effect on where you want to attend school. I am sure that there is going to be hundreds of individuals at my school that will not be able to attend school because they do not have enough money to pay for tuition. Another big issue is people confidence towards what ever they do. Whether it be talking to someone, or setting a difficult goal. I find that self perception effects the way they see they're dreams becoming a reality. There is also all the other little problems that we face. For example relationships, homework, and sports related problems. We as individuals face many struggles throughout our day. Struggles that we can ether fail or successfully overcome.

The Most Interesting Person I Know

The most interesting person I know would have to be my dad. My father is a pretty wise person and has lived through a lot of difficult and interesting times. For example I can ask my dad something and he will probably have a situation where he was in a similar position. My dad also has the capability to really go into detail when he tells a story. He has the capability to some how remember every little aspect of his stories. That overall let's me fully understand what and how things happen when he tells a story from long ago. My dad also has very interesting stories where he is put into different situations. For example he can me of a story of something funny that happened while he is at work. Even though it may sound like a simple story, it can really go a long way. Overall my dad makes for a very interesting person. He has dozens of life changing stories, funny stories, and scary stories. They overall have become the reason why I find him so interesting. They have also been the reason why I don't mind talking to my dad about anything. He always has that ability to keep me entertained, no matter the situation.

My Anti-Drug

My getaway from everything else is music. Playing music, listening to music, an even watching live performances. I've always felt an ease and peacefulness while listening to the composition of sounds. I love how they intertwine and come together. How they can create images in your head. I also love the way you can interpret music in the way you want to see it. Whenever I find myself in some type of mischief, I always turn to my trusty pair of ear phones. The only  two things that I ever really need in order to successfully function. Overall music is my anti-drug. It keeps me tranquil and sane. It keeps me on the right track of how I should be feeling throughout the course of struggles and obstacles I face throughout any day.

An Inconvenient Truth

I learned a lot about global warming while watching Al Gore's presentation. I learned that climate change is inevitable, but I also learned that we have control over how much change occurs. Al Gore made me realize that the planet we live in is a very complex and huge canvas. A canvas that can be easily destroyed by the people who inhabit it. The most alarming segment of Al Gore's presentation was his use of statistics. The numbers don't lie, that is for sure. It is clear that global warming is a huge problem that must be stopped. Just as we are the problem, we can also be the solution. Al Gore is a strange representation of hope. He represents the goodness that man needs in order to move forward. Overall I found Al Gore's presentation as a fine representation of someone who really wants to see change in the world. A world that we sometimes might feel isn't worth all that much. I learned a lot about climate change and the impact it will have on the future. I ultimately learned that global warming is a global problem that we must all choose to resolve.
